Rim Mountain Bike Team Wins Four Medals

The 2012 SoCal Interscholastic Mountain Bike Race Series started last Sunday at the fourth annual Vail Lake Challenge in Temecula.

"This is the fourth season for the SoCal League," said Matt Gunnell, SoCal League director. "This means we have a special group of riders who just started their fourth season with the league."

These riders have raced every season since they were freshmen and are now seniors. That includes Rim High’s own Danika Bates.

"This is the first time that has happened in SoCal and it is a game changer for cycling in our region as so many of our student-athletes would never have been exposed to cycling had they not come across it in their high schools," added Gunnell. "We hope this trend continues and grows moving forward."
