There are a number of good carbon arrows on the market today. I am partial to beman arrows and hunt with the bone collector series. I started hunting with easton aluminum arrows like most archery hunters that started 25 years ago. I have also tried carbon express arrows .

I hunted with the Maxima Hunter and they are a very good carbon hunting arrow. Gold Tip arrows is another that are modestly priced and are a pretty good arrow. I like beman arrows because they are priced fair and have been the most durable of all the arrows that I have tried. When the fletchings wear out I just refletch and they are ready to go again. Another one worth noting is Victory arrows. I have never tried them but have heard good things from those that have.

A bill to allow crossbows during archery season has ignited a debate in the hunting community about where a bow and arrow ends and a firearm begins.

Shawn Harding, former president of the Kansas Bowhunters Association, said he plans to testify against the bill. He said the KBA and several national organizations define a bow as a device in which the string is hand-drawn and hand-held. That excludes crossbows that use mechanical force to lock the string in place and a trigger to release it.
