PENN YAN — Even though public schools were on break last week, 13 Yates County youngsters were still being graded on their work.
In two basement conference rooms of the Yates County Office Building Tuesday evening, these 4-H members were giving public presentations on topics ranging from compound bows to baking an 1800s-era cake. The participants spoke in front of two judges and were evaluated on organization, elocution, understanding of their chosen topic and neatness of visual aids, among other things.
