Q: why are some hockey sticks so expensive? i am not saying all are. but any stick over $70.00 i will not buy. so why are some sticks so expensive?
A: Because most of them these days are made of composites, which are very hard to manufacture, as well as having expensive raw materials. It also take a lot to calculate and engineer exactly how you want the stick to flex and such, R&D on these things

With hockey fever gripping the country after the mens team emphatically qualified for the London Olympics and with the World Series Hockey (WSH) slated to begin on February 29, manufacturers and distributors of hockey equipment in Jalandhar are upbeat over the recent developments. The manufacturers are expecting a boom in their business but are cautious and say that though the effect of the hockey euphoria may not be immediate, the teams success and the World Series Hockey should result in them receiving huge orders. Around 70 big and small units manufacture hockey equipment in and around Jalandhar and many are optimistic that the WSH will revive interest in the national sport.
