St. Ignatius High School baseball team to use all-wooden bats this spring

Such a familiar sound on the baseball diamond will return to one of the local scholastic teams this spring.

St. Ignatius High School will partner with The Phoenix Bat Co. to use all-wooden bats for the 2012 season.

The Wildcats will become the first Ohio high school baseball team to compete with all-wooden bats. Head coach Brad Ganor chose the Ohio-based company in order to maximize his team’s on-field performance, while adhering to increased safety measures for players and fans alike.
